Apposite Triples Capacity of Netropy 10G2

Netropy 10G2 ThumbnailApposite Technologies have released a much improved Netropy 10G2, boosting performance significantly. The updated unit can handle triple the amount of packets per second as the previous version (up to 60 million packets per second from 17 million packets per second), and also includes more buffering capacity.

The new Netropy 10G2’s two bi-directional 10 Gbps links allow simulation of redundant 10 Gbps lines, or two separate 10 Gbps simulations at the same time. The 4 SFP+ ports offer 1/10 Gbps auto-negotiating capability, supporting both 10 Gbps SFP+ and 1 Gbps SFP for easy installation onto any 1 or 10 Gbps network. It features a redundant power supply to guarantee uninterrupted operation for installation in mission-critical networks.

Businesses deploy 10 Gbps links in the wide area for many applications, including server-to-server back up and IP video distribution. When high latency is introduced, file transfers become sluggish, even with sufficient bandwidth. Apposite’s Netropy 10G2 offers enterprises the ability to simulate high latency connections to test real-world, worst-case conditions.

“AptoVision’s BlueRiver NT+ is built to transport video signals over standard 10G Ethernet networks at very high data rates – up to 9 Gbps per stream.” said AptoVisions’s CTO Stephane Tremblay. “Apposite’s Netropy WAN emulators have been instrumental in helping us develop new products and capabilities with confidence that even challenging network environments will not cause us unexpected trouble.”

The Netropy 10G2 is available immediately.
