Easily send Ethernet traffic from a full-duplex copper link to a copper monitoring device with Observer Copper TAPs
Install Observer nTAPs on 10 Mb, 100 Mb, or 1 Gb copper links for quick, anytime access to network traffic. Depending on your network, choose 10/100 or 10/100/1000 copper nTAPs to send perfect copies of critical traffic to network analysers, remote monitoring appliances, forensics tools, and similar dual-receive devices. For further flexibility an Observer Copper-to-Optical Conversion nTAP is available.
nTAPs are passive, full-duplex devices, offering complete visibility to monitoring devices regardless of traffic level. How they are deployed
Place a 10/100/1000 Copper nTAP between two devices of interest on a 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps copper link. Then attach a copper monitoring device to the nTAP. To successfully analyse the full-duplex link, the monitoring device must be equipped with a dual-receive capture card.
Place a 10/100/100 Copper to Optical Conversion nTAP between two devices of interest on a 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps copper link. Then attach either a copper or optical monitoring device to the nTAP. Only one analyser connection can be utilised at a time. To successfully analyse the full-duplex link, the monitoring device must be equipped with a dual-receive capture card.
