Unique Wi-Fi Performance Sensors

Sapphire Eyes are state-of-the-art Wi-Fi sensors and high-performance clients developed and patented by 7SIGNAL. They are uniquely designed to measure network connectivity and the quality of the end-user experience on Wi-Fi networks.

Sapphire Eye 2100

The 2100 contains a powerful directional sector antenna board and acts as a high-performance client device on the Wi-Fi network, continuously testing Wi-Fi performance when connected through the APs deployed in their vicinity. The  2100  supports 802.11ac and due to its sophisticated antenna design, can connect between 4 and 6 access points. Its slim profile makes it easy to conceal in your environment.

Sapphire Eyes from 7SIGNAL execute active, cyclic end-user synthetic test traffic (Layers 1-7), perform a comprehensive passive analysis (Layers 1-2) as well as 2.4GHz and 5GHz spectrum analysis. The tests are defined in a custom automated test profile which can include communication with premises and cloud servers.

Wi-Fi data is analyzed within the Eye and the results are stored in the cloud. Here are just a few of the key performance indicators that can be measured and tracked around the clock.

Sapphire Eyes are typically ceiling mounted. Each Eye utilizes a dual-band 802.11ac 3×3:3 radio and low noise RF amplification technologies to enable active tests and maximize the range of operation. Sapphire Eyes use Power over Ethernet (PoE) and their wireless communications are encrypted.

On the 2100, beam steering provides amplification in the target direction and suppresses interference from other directions. This enables Eyes to make accurate active measurements from a single location. The use of client end beam steering technology essentially creates virtual test points in each beam direction.

Sapphire Eye 500

The 500 is simply a smaller version of the 2100 that connects to 1 or 2 access points. It measures 5x5x2 inches, but don’t let the small size fool you. It has all the capabilities of its bigger 2100 brother…including spectrum analysis and remote packet capture!
