Description

Product overview
The InHand Networks IR315 is a compact industrial LTE router designed to provide reliable, secure and easy-to-manage connectivity for enterprise, industrial and commercial IoT deployments. Combining 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, VPN technologies, five Ethernet ports, dual SIM support, cloud management and optional GNSS, it offers a flexible connectivity platform for remote sites, unattended equipment and distributed devices.
The IR315 is well suited to applications such as smart factories, inspection robots, charging stations, electronic police systems, self-service terminals and connected medical equipment. With a rugged industrial design and intelligent software services, it helps organisations maintain secure data links across remote and business-critical environments.

Uninterrupted network access
The IR315 supports multiple network access methods, including cellular, wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi, allowing it to adapt to a wide range of deployment environments. It features five 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet RJ45 ports with WAN, LAN and VLAN support, giving engineers more flexibility when connecting local devices on site.
With support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and wired connectivity, the IR315 can provide reliable network access for IoT devices in locations where fixed-line connections are unavailable, unreliable or need cellular backup. Optional Wi-Fi supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n with speeds up to 300Mbps, while optional GNSS provides GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS positioning support for location-aware applications.

Concise and convenient cloud management
The IR315 supports InHand Device Manager, giving users a centralised cloud platform for managing distributed routers and remote sites. Through Device Manager, teams can monitor device status, manage large deployments, update firmware and apply configuration changes remotely, helping to reduce the time and cost associated with on-site maintenance.
For engineers responsible for supporting remote equipment, the IR315 can also be used with InHand InConnect cloud connection service. This enables secure remote access to downstream devices, making it easier to diagnose faults, carry out configuration changes, perform maintenance and support connected equipment without needing to visit site.

Always online
The IR315 is designed to help maintain network availability across remote and unattended deployments. It supports cellular, wired and Wi-Fi backup, cellular link failover, dual SIM switching, VRRP hot backup and multi-layer link detection to help keep devices connected.
Built-in watchdog functionality enables the router to perform self-detection and recover automatically from malfunctions. If a connection is interrupted, the IR315 can detect the issue and redial automatically, helping to reduce downtime and maintain stable communication for business-critical IoT applications.

Strong security protection
The IR315 includes a wide range of security features to help protect data, devices and remote networks. Built-in firewall policies, access control, SPI, DoS attack defence, ACL support, IP-MAC binding and enhanced Wi-Fi security help defend against unauthorised access and external threats.
For secure data transmission, the IR315 supports a broad range of VPN technologies, including PPTP, L2TP, GRE, IPsec VPN, OpenVPN, DMVPN, WireGuard and ZeroTier. It also supports CA digital certificates, helping organisations build secure remote connectivity across distributed sites and connected equipment.

Industrial-grade design
The IR315 is built for demanding industrial environments, with a metal housing, fanless cooling and IP30 protection rating. Its compact 127 x 108.2 x 35mm form factor helps reduce installation space, while DIN-rail and wall mounting support make it suitable for a wide range of IoT deployment scenarios.
Designed for harsh operating conditions, the IR315 supports a wide temperature range, with normal operation from -35°C to 70°C and extended operation from -40°C to 75°C. It also includes over-current protection, anti-reverse connection protection, EMC level 3 protection, shock resistance, vibration resistance and free-fall protection, making it a robust choice for industrial networking, automation and remote connectivity applications.
