nTAP 10/100 Copper nTAP Overview
The 10/100 Copper nTAP includes a connection to either side of the full-duplex link under test and a standard full-duplex analyser connection. All copper nTAPs replicate the full-duplex signal from the network, sending one signal back to the network and the other signal to the monitoring device, which is required to be equipped with a dual-receive capture card.

As with all nTAPs, 10/100 Copper nTAPs are passive, full-duplex monitoring devices, offering complete visibility into the network regardless of traffic levels. nTAPs work with the leading security and network management tools so you can quickly and easily deploy them into the network. And once you install an nTAP, you never need to bring down the link to connect a monitoring device.

All copper nTAPs are transparent, which means you can monitor critical links without data stream interference. Even if power to the nTAP fails, copper nTAPs provide continuous network data flow. Copper nTAPs also work well with redundant-enabled devices. So if the link on one side of the nTAP goes down, the nTAP will automatically bring down the other link, allowing the corresponding device to switch over to a redundant link.

nTAP 10/100 Copper Deployment
Place a 10/100 Copper nTAP between two devices of interest on a 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps copper link. Then attach a copper monitoring device to the nTAP. To successfully analyse the full-duplex link, the monitoring device must be equipped with a dual-receive capture card.
