Email Services
Email Encryption to the Desktop
Email is like a postcard. As each message travels across the public internet, many people can easily intercept, read and even change it. In today's increasingly high-risk online climate, security is compromised every time an email is sent.
This service (private post) allows desktop to desktop encryption whilst still having the email scanned for viruses & policy rules by Webroot's managed email service.
Description
Private Post delivers military-grade email encryption technology and is the intelligent alternative to unsecured email. It quickly and easily encrypts private, confidential and sensitive emails and their attachments, ensuring they can only be decrypted by intended recipients.
Private Post is built upon patent-pending technology and highly sophisticated elliptic curve encryption algorithms which ensures that only the people you want to can read your email!
Private Post solves all the historical problems associated with traditional encryption products such as offline working and easy key management. It is equally useful for one-to-one, one-to-many & many-to-many communications.
When an email encrypted using EMS private post arrives at the managed service a copy of the email is securely sent to the a server pool that is able to scan the email and return details regarding the content of the email, i.e. does it contain a virus? does it break any acceptable use policies?
Unlimited recipients can be sent encrypted email
Each licence for this service allows unlimited emails to be sent encrypted, a licence is linked to the sender's address.
Unlike many other desktop encryption methods, private post does not increase the original message size if it is sent to multiple recipients.
Military grade encryption using elliptic curve algorithms
BULLET-PROOF SECURITY - 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
That's the number of different keys a potential hacker would have to try in an attempt to break Private Post's encryption. It is the result of using military-grade Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cryptography which encrypts every email using 2^256 possible keys. In the IT security industry this is known as a bullet-proof system.
No hardware or software purchase required
As a managed service there is no requirement for hardware or software to be purchased. This then avoids high upfront costs and ongoing capacity planning.
User experience:
Sending of emails
When sending a message, send as 'private' or 'normal'
