MailMonitor
MailMonitor provides a robust solution to the threat of email-borne viruses. The MailMonitor suite of software checks all email traffic passing through gateways, providing an extra layer of protection against mass mailing viruses.
The software incorporates detection and disinfection of viruses in email - including those in attachments compressed with Zip and other popular compression utilities plus features which give administrators complete control over their networks.
Technical support, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year is included in all licences.
Detection and disinfection
Sophos software has a heuristic capability built into its standard detection methods which allows it to detect some virus variants which have not yet been analysed by the Sophos labs. However, because Sophos intelligently tempers its heuristic capability with other virus-detection technology it is less likely than some competing products to cause false alarms.
Once a virus has been detected, the Sophos virus engine automatically disinfects macro and boot sector viruses. The software can also disinfect common executable viruses.
Sophos's excellent detection rates are regularly recognised and certified by a wide variety of independent testing bodies including TruSecure ICSA Labs, West Coast Labs and Virus Bulletin. The software is also routinely commended by many industry magazines and journals.

Total gateway/groupware protection
MailMonitor disinfects, deletes or quarantines infected email and attachments at the gateway, protecting WANs and LANs from viruses before they enter or leave the organisation. In addition to real-time scanning on all versions, MailMonitor incorporates on-demand and scheduled scanning for Notes/Domino databases and mailboxes, and for Exchange 2000 mailboxes.
Powerful technology The powerful Sophos virus detection engine allows MailMonitor to detect and disinfect viruses in incoming and outgoing email including viruses in compressed attachments such as Zip and other popular utilities.
Centralised control MailMonitor automatically reports any virus incident, giving administrators full centralised control over quarantined attachments.

Simple, flexible licensing MailMonitor can be licensed to include protection for one or more platforms and can be combined with a licence for Sophos Anti-Virus and/or SAVI to provide enterprise-wide protection. There are no hidden extra costs.
Constant update Continuous updates are available for new viruses detected in the wild. In addition, full monthly updates are available for download and are also sent on CD to all customers at the beginning of each month.
